Each hole takes a day to complete - using the backhoe to dig out the bulk of the dirt before I climb down a ladder and fill buckets with the dirt we could not scoop out. I then use a jack hammer to square up the sides and base before filling buckets again. The holes don't have any breeze, but they are usually dark and shady until the middle of the day.
We have to watch for snakes that drop into the holes overnight... there is no way out for them as the walls are clay and vertical.
If Chris is called away for work in the afternoons, I go back to bending and welding the cages
for the concrete blocks that will sit at the base of these holes.
I had the oppotunity to use the dingo again this week to fill potholes and level out the roads around the campsite - in preparation for the spreading of molassis. This will harden and leave the roads like they are bitumen until the next wet season. Whenever I have time, I will get on the dingo again and do further re-arranging of the grounds.

When I am on shift in the TX building, I also spend time chasing quotes on the materials needed for the new towers. I am thankful for it because it keeps the mind going - instead of just doing physical work.
The new air cond unit arrived for the TX building today so we will install it next week and hopefully extend the life of the transmitters in the process.
Weather has been a lot more pleasant - 35 deg average in the daytime, 18 deg av at night and lower humidity.
