We tried to work at the new transmitter site today - hoped the couple of days of sunshine had dried the soil enough to drive on... wrong!
Got the truck bogged, and hooked the back with a snatchem strap to a 4wd. Lots of mud went straight up, all wheels spinning on 4wd but truck went no-where. Tried several times to no avail and all the while, the two vehicles sunk deeper.
It was at this point I realised the truck was in 1st, not reverse. Would have looked like a great tractor pull to an observer.
So, we went back to sanding room 9 until lunch
In the arvo, when the transmitters are off between 11.30am and 3.30pm, we had a look at one of the antennas which has a missing stay on one of the elements at the top.
Peter bravely climed the tower in the heat (40 metres) and hooked up a pulley on the top. On Friday, we will pull someone back up there - probably with the Dingo - to fix the antenna. We did not have enough time between transmissions today.
Jodi is really getting into full swing homeschooling now and I come home to a variety of artistic creations each day as well as her fine home cooking.
Thats all for now

That made me smile. Don, Don, Don what a goose - but getting used to the weather does make you do some funny things.
